Beefeater Winter Gin – Release Confirmed
It will come as no surprise to those that were aware of the availability of Beefeater Summer Gin that it is being followed up by a Beefeater Winter Gin. It’s an interesting take on the market, and expands the Beefeater portfolio (which includes the ‘normal‘, 24, Crown Jewel and the aforementioned Summer Gin).
Developed by Beefeater’s master distiller Desmond Payne, the Beefeater Winter Edition includes additional botanicals such as cinnamon, nutmeg and pine shoots.
Chivas Brothers brand director for gin Simon Burley said: “As the world’s leading premium gin, we are committed to driving the category forward by introducing innovative new products and different serving suggestions. The release of the new Beefeater Winter Edition lends itself to creating new gin cocktails at home, as well as being an ideal seasonal gift so we are confident it will be just as successful as the summer edition.”
Payne commented: “I wanted to create a gin that would enhance the traditional Beefeater recipe and complement hot punches and other popular winter cocktails. Beefeater Winter Edition captures the familiar aromas of the season using a balanced combination of botanicals that are synonymous with that particular time of year.”
It’s an interesting concept, and reminds me of the ‘Winter Pimms Cup’, otherwise known as Pimms No.3 (with Brandy), which works well in hot beverages. Imagine pewter tankards, and served warmed with fruits and spices. Maybe this summer ending isn’t a bad thing?
It will cost £17.99, and you can buy Beefeater Winter from:
I’m glad that in Birmingham I’ve got at least two retailers to check on!
